Play ESP Test Online

HOW TO PLAY ESP TEST

The program simulates using a deck of the standard ESP Cards (sometimes called Zener Cards) used by the parapsychologist J.B. Rhine in his classic studies of Extrasensory Perception. Each card has one of five different symbols on the face: Square, Circle, Cross, Star, or Waves. The back of a card is shown and you have to choose which of the five symbols is on the face. After you make your choice the face is shown to you and your percentage of correct guesses is tallied.

The program is "menu-driven" by five menus at the top of the screen:

ABOUT - displays program information.
HELP - displays a help screen.
TEST - starts the test.
FAME - displays the Hall of Fame.
QUIT - exits to ProDOS

The cursor is moved among the menu items or card symbols by using the left and right arrow keys on the keyboard. Place the cursor on the item that you wish to select and press the ENTER key. Press the ESC key to cancel the test and activate the menu.

This page uses the ActiveGS ActiveX control from the Free Tools Association. ActiveGS is a fully functional Apple ][GS emulator, based on the KEGS Apple IIgs Emulator by Kent Dickey. Thanks go out to both of them for making this possible.

Resources

Download a ShrinkIt file for use with a real Apple II.

ProDOS is not included in this archive. Boot into ProDOS and unshrink all three files into a directory on your hard drive or onto a floppy disk, then run the file ESP.SYSTEM to start the game.

.2mg 140K disk image for use with emulators.

The RUNTIME.OBJ and ESP.OBJ files included in the above archives must be in the same directory as the ESP.SYSTEM executable file.

Visit the Free Tools Association (FTA) web site, home of the ActiveGS IIgs emulator in an ActiveX control.

Visit the KEGS (Kent's Emulated GS) home page. KEGS is available for the Windows, Mac OS X , and most Unix/Linux platforms.
